Behind the Shoot: Heart Collection

1. What was the design process like for this collection?
Heart is the first collection to include kids’ pajama styles, so designing this collection was a little different than previous ones. We wanted it to feel fresh and playful, and with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, a heart print was the natural focus. We worked with an amazing local artist named William Santiago on the heart design - more to come from William btw! - and red and pink have always been a favorite color combination, so it was fun to play with that combo on the stripes.

2. What inspires you about Elizabeth Chambers and Bird Bakery?
We are such fans of Elizabeth and everything she does! She’s kind, gracious, funny - everything a Lake girl should be. It’s particularly inspiring that she's both a mom and an entrepreneur. We are very familiar with the joys and struggles of balancing those roles, and she seems to juggle everything with such ease. It’s incredible to see the success of Bird Bakery, and we can’t wait to see what’s to come.

3. What was your favorite memory from the shoot?
Working with Elizabeth’s daughter Harper during the photoshoot was such a treat! This was our first time shooting with a kid, so we weren’t sure what to expect. Harper couldn’t have been better! She is so sweet and happy - very much like her mom.

4. Where will you be taking the Heart collection this spring?
To our photoshoot next month of course! Hint: it’s beachy ;)
