Behind the Shoot: SS16

1. What was the overall inspiration behind the shoot?

We wanted to capture the wanderlust and dreamy glow found on a lazy summer day by the water - running around barefoot, hanging out on the dock, taking a nap in a hammock. To complement this, the make up was natural and the hair was soft and tousled.  Nothing too "done".

 2. What was the design inspiration behind this particular collection?

We focused on natural shades of coral, peach, pale blue, grass green, and heathered grey.

3. How/why did you choose the shoot location?

Our friend was so kind and offered to let us use her family's vacation property in Wadmalaw, South Carolina. It was important to us that the property was on the water because, to us, summer is synonymous with being on the water. The property's laid back vibe, river-front screened porch, and rustic dock were the perfect backdrop for the collection.

4. What was your favorite memory from the shoot?

A favorite spontaneous moment that sticks out was the last minute addition of a hat that created some insane shots of Christina on the dock. It was a simple prop, but really provided that special summery feeling we were after. This was our first "real" photoshoot and the first time we'd worked with this particular group of creative women. We loved the experience of working with everyone and realized that we had assembled quite the dream team. The final results were amazing- a true collaborative blend of what each person brought to the table. The entire experience was so easy and fun!
