Pillow Talk: Establishment Home

When Alexis Simpson and Stacie Morrison launched Establishment Home in 2015, they were both decorating their first homes and looking for a place to discover affordable, quality and timeless pieces. In launching Establishment Home, they have curated a selection of gifts, home decor, and art for a "well-layered" home inspired by Southern charm that balances vintage with contemporary.

Both Alexis and Stacie love working and collaborating with other female entrepreneurs which has led to the launch of their Tastemaker Pillow Shoppe. As the core of their site is The Pillow Shoppe, they loved the idea of inviting a group of inspiring women to select their favorite fabric to be offered for a limited time. This week they launched the Lake Pajamas pillow and we couldn't be more excited to feature them in our "Pillow Talk" series. Read more about Alexis and Stacie below and be sure to check out all of the Tastemaker pillows here.

1. Why do you love what you do?

To be completely honest, we love that it's ours! We make all the decisions and we're able to touch every element of the business (which we love!). It allows us to be creative, challenges us, and we get to work with people we love.

2. How did you get to where you are now?

We were both at the same stage in life - getting married, buying our first homes and really excited about the prospect of decorating. As we got started, we found it challenging to get the customized look we craved at an approachable price point. Our wheels started turning and the idea for Establishment was born!

3. Who are three of your style muses?

It's no secret we have a bit of a royal obsession. Currently we're both in love with Meghan Markle - she's nailed it. With interiors, we love Sarah Bartholomew.

4. What is your next travel destination?

Alexis: Nantucket! In fact...I need to start packing!

Stacie: I just binged Downton Abbey (for the second time), so I'm having a major London moment right now. My next planned trip is to Newport, Rhode Island for the annual Folk Festival - can't wait!

5. What is currently on your bedside table?

Alexis: L'Occitane Ultra Rich Body Cream (the best), family pictures, and a tray with books - "Little Fires Everywhere" and Gil Schafer's "A Place to Call Home" and "The Great American House". We just bought a home in a historical neighborhood that needs lots of work - Gil is a major source of inspiration for me!

Stacie: Sadly, nothing right now. I'm currently redoing my bedroom and have new bedside tables on the way!

6. Tell us something that people may not know about you.

Alexis: I know the words to A LOT of rap songs.

Stacie: This isn't really a secret, but I love all things sports! With two little boys, I can't wait for a future filled with nothing but sports.
