Pillow Talk: Nicola Bathie McLaughlin
Whether it be interiors, art, or jewelry, Nicola Bathie McLaughlin has always had an eye for design. After studying Interior Design for a summer at Oxford University, Nicola continued her education in Interior Design at Texas Christian University. Nicola started Nicola Bathie Jewelry in 2012, after initially designing jewelry just for fun. Continuing her love for design, Nicola then began McLaughlin Interiors in 2015. She has seamlessly tied both design and jewelry together and continues both businesses out of San Antonio, where she resides with her husband and baby girl, Sophia. We met Nicola this summer at The Dunmore and were enamored of her designs. We hope you enjoy learning more about her below!

1. Why do you love what you do?

I love what I do because of who I get to interact with and because everyday is different.

2. How did you get to where you are now?
I have gotten where I am today from the challenges and failures I have gone through. There is no better motivation for me than a challenge.

3. Who are three of your style muses?

I can't really say I really have any in particular but I suppose I need one... My husband and friends think I dress too over the top.

4. What is your next travel destination?

Two destination weddings (Aspen and Seaside) and then a big trip to London in May 2019 to see the Chelsea Flower Show.

5. What is currently on your bedside table?

The Queen's Jewels book, a Graff Diamond book, a pink Murano bowl for my jewelry, fresh flowers and the newest, not so beautiful addition, a baby monitor.

6. Tell us something that people may not know about you!

I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and am a British citizen.
