Pillow Talk: Robin Verrier
Robin Verrier is the very talented art director and prop stylist of Verry Robin & Co. We partnered with her for our Americana collection and are excited to get to know more about her below!

1. Why do you love what you do?

Being a prop stylist and photographer for brands is a total dream come true! And to be honest, there are so many reasons why I love what I do but I think the gist of it is that I get to create beauty for a living. And the best part? That others can benefit from it! Brands come to me so I can create powerfully styled visuals for them and that's pretty cool. I love seeing the final product when my work is featured in all of its various places like website, catalogs, lookbooks and magazines!

2. How did you get to where you are now?

Before I started my business, I worked as a stylist and photographer at a magazine whose headquarters are located in my hometown. And let me tell you, that was one incredible learning experience! I hadn't fully realized at the time what I wanted to do with my life but I knew that I had this creative itch that I needed to scratch. When I started to style and photograph imagery at this publication I knew I'd found my calling! I've always wanted my own business so I left my job there and took the plunge. (Seriously scariest thing I've ever done!) Three years later and I'm here working away doing what I love!

3. Who are three of your style muses?

You know it's funny, I have so many so narrowing it down to three is a bit hard, but Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowden (a.k.a sister of Queen Elizabeth II) is certainly one of them. (Remember her character on The Crown?) I love and admire this woman for many reasons, but I love that her style was very true to who she was. I admire women, all throughout history and especially today, who are true to themselves and wear and do what they want. Life is truly too short for anything else.

Another style muse of mine is Iris Apfel. I mean, is she not the most fabulous woman you've ever seen? Something about Iris that I admire is that she does what she wants when she wants and how she wants. You know that saying "use the silver?" Iris uses the silver... in fact she WEARS the silver and truly dresses to the nines for the simple every day and that is admirable in my book. Her use of color, layering and texture is so inspiring too and I hope to be as fabulous as her in my 30's as she is in her 90's!

Last and final style muse is the incomparable Mrs. Roper from the 70's sitcom Three's Company. I grew up watching every single episode of this show and still to this day, adore this woman immensely. In every episode she would dawn a colorful and patterned caftan with layers of jewelry and perfectly quaffed red hair. (She actually looks much like my own grandmother minus the hair color so that may be part of it...) So if you've never heard of this lady, she's certainly worth a Google!

4. What is your next travel destination?

I've been to a lot of incredible places but I've never been to Spain, Morocco, Egypt, Japan or Greece. So those are certainly on my list!

5. What is currently on your bedside table?

At least one book from the Harry Potter series, a Wedgwood biscuit jar full of chapstick, a good wrinkle cream (starting young!) Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate (the absolute best!) and a giant cup for water. Oh yeah, there's also a beautiful photograph of the Caribbean that my Grandfather took on one of his many trips in a silver frame.

6. Tell us something that people may not know about you!

I'm a closet-not-so-closet Paleontologist. And if I wasn't doing what I'm doing now I would be back in school pursuing a degree in Paleontology and studying dinosaur fossils. I even have a solid dinosaur fossil collection and my husband usually gives me a new piece each year for Christmas. That man truly knows the way to my heart!
